Welcome to the website of Sutton French Circle! 

We meet at 7:30pm on the second Friday of the month at 

The Friends Meeting House, 10 Cedar Road, Sutton, SM2 5DA

Talks are in French, by professional lecturers. 

Sutton French Circle was founded in 1972 as a friendly group that meets monthly for talks on French life and culture, followed by a chat in French (or Franglais) over coffee and biscuits. Several times a year we have a lunch or dinner in a local restaurant, and have occasionally arranged day trips to France. 

The programme for 2023 - 2024 can be found under “Programme.” It is also possible for our members to attend a variety of lectures organised by other French Circles in the UK. These lectures are listed under "Conférences sur Zoom." 

All meetings and notifications are in French, but we welcome people with all levels of the language. If before joining you would like to see if the level at our meetings suits you, you will be most welcome as a visitor.

Between September 2023 and August 2024, the annual membership fee will be £35, which covers seven lectures plus a members’ evening.  Should you wish to attend a particular lecture as a visitor, the entry fee is £5 per evening.
